Ruth, a cat and Idgie a dog were abandoned at someone’s driveway. Both of them were picked up and taken to an Animal Control where they grew their friendship and share a unique bond. And now, they are pretty much inseparable. Their names were after “Fried green tomatoes” because of the special bond they have.

Do You Let Your Cats Sleep on the Bed? Another aMeowzing video from one of our favorite Cat Vloggers, Cole and Marmalade.
 
We used to close Cole & Marmalade out of the bedroom at night because of all the kitty olympics and lack of sleep… but then we drove from Florida to California and the three hotel nights we had with them they didn’t disturb us at all!
 
Then when we arrived in California at our new apartment we didn’t want to shut them out at night in unfamiliar territory so from then on we’ve had an open door policy 🙂
 
Sure there’s the occasional bump in the night and we’re woken by the “Marmalarm” a few times a week if he’s hungry and we haven’t woken up yet! … But we’re rewarded with Cole snuggles and soothing purrs at bedtime so that works for us!
 
I thought it would be funny to film Cole at night while Jess was away on a work/vacation trip…. as you can see it took him a few nights to snuggle up with me, but since then he always comes to me first to snuggle when we’re in bed before I roll over and go to sleep, then he goes over to Jess to interrupt her reading 🙂

Dorella Tuckwiller, president and founder of local animal rescue group Itty Bitty Kitty Committee,  put her own health at risk to save this tiny kitten’s life.
Tuckwiller crawled head-first into a storm drain pipe beneath a Virginia Avenue driveway and retrieved the barely breathing kitten. A small crowd cheered as West Side volunteer firefighter Galeena Wileman pulled Tuckwiller from the pipe by a rope tied to her ankle and Tuckwiller held the wet, shivering creature in her hand. Last week, a man named Lance Gallimore noticed a kitten outside in the snow near his home at Fort Drum, New York.

“Every time I would get closer, she would just run off or wander off,” said Gallimore. “I just assumed that she had frozen to be honest.”

He thought he lost the kitten but after a few days, They were driving down Interstate 81 to travel to Roanoke to see family and when they stopped at a gas station to fill up. Gallimore was surprised when he saw the same kitten under the car’s hood.

“Something told me to open the hood and when I opened the hood, sure enough, there she was,” he said.

At the sunset of his life, 21-year-old cat Tigger was abandoned by his human at a local veterinary surgery. Sad and confused, he couldn’t understand why. But then Adriene Nicole came along. Sadly, Nicole soon discovered that Tigger had kidney failure and a golf ball-sized tumor. But it didn’t hold Nicole back: “Though he has kidney failure and we found a tumor, he kicks it like a 12 yr old. We decided to create a bucket list full of random adventures [for Tigger],” she wrote on Facebook.

“Though it might not be much to others, all the little trips outside are a blast for him because he loves to be outdoors…the beach being his favorite so far,” she explained. “The most important part is that Tigger’s story just shows how amazing it is to adopt a geriatric pet and give them the best remaining days! He has forever changed our hearts and will hopefully change the hearts of others when it comes to adopting older pets!”
