Elderly Feral Cat Overcomes Tough Life to Become a Mama's Boy

Knowing that socialization was an essential part of treating Mr. Belvedere, the rescuer started by using a wooden spoon to scratch his paw or back. Over time, the cat began to trust his caregiver and allowed him to treat his ears and give him eye drops. As he got better, Mr. Belvedere started to enjoy the company of his caregiver and eventually moved indoors for a well-deserved retirement.

The new owner played classical music and sang to Mr. Belvedere, and with a lot of TLC, the cat opened up and became very affectionate. He loved to play with toys and even sang different songs for each emotion. Mr. Belvedere’s story is an example of the importance of patience, time, and love when rescuing and rehabilitating animals.
